Reason for Living
29th August 2024
Assalamualaikum and peace be upon you!
Thursday. Continuing the same unit from yesterday. Reason for living. Why do you think the title is called that? It's because of this:
One of the words practiced today! Let's see kanji learned today:
- ιγΆ (asobu) = to play
- ζΆπ’ (namida) = tears
- ηγγγ (ikigai) = reason for living
- ζ΅γ (nagasu) = to shed
- ηΊγγ (nagameru) = to look at
P/S: Ikigai is actually a title of a popular book:
ηγη²ζ - The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life
I guess that is how you write the kanji for γγ (gai).
I recommend giving this book a try for those who are into longevity, healthy lifestyle and who are often stressful. By the way,
what is your reason for living?
For Muslims, the cliche one but nevertheless true is:
"I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me." β 51:56
But some people, especially non-Muslims, might think that that is mundane and lame. Because the act of worshipping is associated with the imageries of rituals and ceremonies, right?
The term 'ibadah' (from Arabic) in Islam doesn't actually constrict it to rituals but
including keeping speech free "from filth, falsehood, malice, abuse", and dishonesty, obeying Islamic Shariah law in "commercial and economic affairs" and in "dealings with your parents, relatives, friends", and everyone else.
Even the boring act of our daily work can be an ibadah if the intention is for God, for providing yourself and family (because that is what God wants you to do)
This can be a long entry because it's such a deep philosophical question, right?
"What wakes you up in the morning?"
"What drives you?"
"What is your motivation?"
So I guess we'll leave it there for self-reflection.
Shout out to ηΏε©-san, IZzah α₯«α‘-san and γγ£γ«γγ¦γΉ (FIRDAUS)-san for the gifts! γγγγ¨γγγγγΎγγοΌ
ηΏε© = Heart Me π
IZzah α₯«α‘ = Heart Me π
γγ£γ«γγ¦γΉ (FIRDAUS) = 5 x Roses πΉ
I think that's it for this entry. γΎγγ~ π
